We are growing rapidly and we’re looking for someone who shares this vision and wants to grow with us **WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR** We are looking for a **Quality Control Chemist I**to join our finished products team, where you will help test and release commercial batches. This position will be based out of our manufacturing facility in **Etobicoke**. **WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE** - Perform routine testing of raw materials, finished products, stability, cleaning validation, etc., using various analytical techniques (HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV Spectroscopy, wet chemistry, etc.) - Conduct sensory evaluation on raw materials, in-process and finished products (E.g. colour, odor, texture) - Conduct finished product and raw materials release in accordance with the company internal procedure. - Cleaning, sanitization, calibration and verification of Lab equipment. (E.g. pH Meter, viscometer, Scales, and Thermometer). - Perform receiving, organizing and storing of retain samples of Bulk products and R&D standard samples. - Work collaboratively with production, compounding staff, R&D, Inventory Control, production planning to ensure product is manufactured according to standards. - Document activities and results according to quality standards. - Participate in other activities (e.g administrative) of the department and other duties as assigned. - Follow Good Laboratory Practices, Good Documentation Practices, all relevant internal procedures in all laboratories related activities and ensure compliance with Corporate Quality Systems. - Ensure all job-related training is completed on time through the company quality management system or as assigned. **SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE** - Relevant education in chemistry science, pharmaceutical sciences, life sciences, OR equivalent work experience is an asset. - Previous experience with, or good understanding of good laboratory practices and good documentation practices - Experience with laboratory safety procedures - Motivation and ability to solve complex problems. **WHAT YOU’LL BE GAINING BY JOINING OUR TEAM** There’s a lot of good stuff that comes along with being a DECIEM team member.
