**Accounts Payable Roles & Responsibilities**
- Post business transactions, process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records
- Maintain meticulous records of outstanding payables
- Ensure the accuracy of an organization’s financial documents for payment, auditing and tax purposes
- Protect businesses against unintentional overpayment
- Practice effective monitoring to ensure payments are made to vendors in a timely manner
- Clarify any questionable invoice items, prices or receiving signatures
- Assemble and review invoices to be completed for payment
- Maintain copies of vouchers, invoices or correspondence necessary for files
- Obtain proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments
- Verify invoices against purchase orders and ensure goods or services were received before issuing payment to vendors.
- Ensure invoices are coded correctly and post in the period the transaction occurred
- Other duties as required by management.

**Account Payable Essential Skills**
- Basic Accounting knowledge and Accounts Payable knowledge.
- Accounts Payable Accounting experience preferred.
- Experience with the CDK program is considered an asset.
- Good numeracy skills, and sound analytical skills.
- Detail oriented and organized
- Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
- Good problem solving and computer skills.
- Demonstrate effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Time management and leadership skills.
- Trustworthy, respectful and able to demonstrate strong work ethic.
- Self-motivated and ability to work with minimum supervision.

**Accounts Payable Educational Requirements**
- A degree is not mandatory
- An understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting skills is required
- Finance or Economics
- Business Studies
- Accounting

**This compensation range will be based on knowledge and experience**

**Job Type**: Full Time - Permanent
**Compensation**: Starting $45,000 per year
