Fundraising Strategy & Implementation
- Build upon current strategy and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to increase revenue from individual donors, corporations, foundations, and grants.
- Play a key role in establishing annual fundraising and prospects goals/ targets and ensure they are met.
- Develop, monitor and evaluate all fundraising activities to ensure that targets are being achieved.
- Assist in identifying, cultivating, and stewarding donors.
- Manage a portfolio of key prospects and donors.
- Identify and cultivate new funding opportunities to diversify and grow Unison’s donor base.
- Manage and oversee multiple annual fundraising campaigns.

Donor Engagement & Stewardship
- Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, ensuring meaningful engagement and recognition.
- Develop and execute donor communication plans, including impact reports, newsletters, and personalized outreach.
- Oversee donor database management (Raiser’s Edge) and reporting to track contributions and engagement.

Corporate Partnerships
- Develop and maintain relationships with corporate sponsors and partners.
- Work collaboratively with program leads to align funding proposals with organizational needs and priorities.

Events & Community Engagement
- Plan and execute fundraising events, donor appreciation gatherings, and corporate engagement opportunities. This includes annual Seniors Expo and Golf Tournament.
- Represent Unison at networking events, community meetings, and industry conferences.
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications teams to develop promotional materials and digital campaigns for fundraising efforts.

Lead fundraising team
- Recruit, train and oversee the fundraising team. Provide direct supervision and develop personal growth opportunities for direct reports.
- Establish departmental goals and execute the fund development annual plan.
- Assist in preparing the fund development budget with the Business Development Director.
- Prepare monthly process reports on fundraising activities.
- Attending networking and fund development events.
- Represent Unison at community events, presentations, tradeshows, corporate, service clubs, etc.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Demonstrate professional behavior and appearance appropriate to the position.

**Education**:

- Postsecondary degree or diploma in related field.

**Experience**:

- 3 - 5 years of management experience and leading a team.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit development.
- Proven track record in securing funding through grants, corporate sponsorships, and individual giving.
- Experience with donor management software (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, or similar CRM) is an asset.

Competencies:

- Strong relationship-building skills and ability to engage donors and stakeholders effectively.
- Excellent written communication skills, with experience in donor correspondence.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills and the ability to comfortable interact with a wide range of individuals from the community, business and government sectors.
- Demonstrated success in managing and implementing a comprehensive fund development program.
- Demonstrated ability to building and lead a team.
- Demonstrated ability to network and build strategic partnerships. This includes the ability to “cold call” prospects.
- Strong self motivation and the ability to collaborate as part of a team.

Office environment from 8am - 4pm or 8:30am - 4:30pm, with the flexibility to occasionally work from home. This is a full-time position of 35 hours a week. The position is overtime exempt. Flexibility in hours is required to meet the needs of Unison and the expectations of this position.
