**Reports to**:Resort General Manager
**Achieving Excellence**:
Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge is a 400+ room Autograph Collection by Marriott, located 60 minutes west of Calgary International Airport. As the Director of People & Culture you have a crucial seat on the Executive Committee; providing Human Resource leadership and strategic direction in support of the Resort's overall strategic goals. Most importantly, you will champion Pomeroy Lodging Core Values and operationalize them; supporting a work environment that is collaborative and driven in keeping it's promises. **Key Focuses**

**Strategic Planning and Alignment**:
- Develops and implements People & Culture (P&C) strategies that are aligned with the company’s overall business goals, collaborating closely with the wider Executive team as a business partner
- Conducts a thorough assessment of needs and deploys strategies and tactics by setting priorities and securing the required resources
- Emphasizes talent acquisition, retention, development, and succession planning to support the Resort's long-term success
**Leadership and Employee Relations**:
- Leads the P&C initiatives across the Resort, providing guidance and support to leaders at all levels to foster a culture of trust, honesty, respect, and gratitude
- Actively engages with Resort General Manager and other leaders to handle employee issues, conflicts, and disciplinary actions, ensuring alignment with the organization's Core Values
- Coaches and supports leaders to ensure they have the tools and knowledge to handle employee concerns proactively, preventing conflicts from escalating
**Recruitment and Selection**:
- Oversees the recruitment and selection strategy for the Resort, ensuring all pipelines are active and working in collaboration with Corporate P&C to maximize recruitment efforts
- Manages the onboarding process to ensure a positive first impression and successful integration of new employees into the Resort's culture
**Compensation, Benefits, and Compliance**:
- Collaborates with senior operational and human resource leaders to design and implement total compensation packages, including recognition and incentive programs tailored to the Resort's needs
- Ensures that compensation structures, salary reviews, and benefits programs are competitive and in line with market trends, with a focus on work-life balance
- Ensures Resort people practices are compliant with legal requirements and organizational values, managing the risk of litigation and conflict
**Training and Development**:
- Identifies training gaps and collaborates with Corporate P&C to develop and deliver resort-wide training programs that align with the Resort’s specific operational needs
- Works with Resort leadership to integrate training and development as a central component of the Resort's strategy to drive efficiency and achieve desired results
**Health, Safety, and Wellness**:
- Leads the implementation of health, safety, and wellness policies and procedures within the Resort, ensuring compliance through training, monitoring, and proactive safeguarding measures
- Manages the employee residence experience, focusing on the health, safety, and comfort of employees residing in Resort-provided accommodations
**Internal Communication and Collaboration**:
- Works with the Resort leadership team to build effective internal communication channels that resonate with all employees, ensuring alignment with Corporate P&C initiatives
- Connects meaningfully with employees, ensuring promises are kept and fostering a collaborative work environment.
**Metrics and Analytics**:
- Utilizes data to assess P&C performance against agreed KPIs, ensuring that the Resort division meets its people-related goals
- Monitors labour budgets and residence allocations of all departments within the Resort, working with leaders to address inefficiencies and optimize resource allocation

- Maintains a visible and accessible presence throughout the Resort, building strong working relationships and being perce
