**Your Contribution to NRSI**
NRSI is looking for an experienced Ecological Project Manager to join our growing team in either **_Waterloo or Calgary_** to provide ecological services related to a wide variety of project types, with a specific emphasis on managing ecological monitoring programs and conducting impact assessments for renewable energy facilities.

This position would primarily support our Renewable Energy service team, and provides a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to join a leading and respected environmental consulting firm with established clientele and ongoing projects across Canada. The primary duties and responsibilities for this role include:

- Managing ecological projects, including multi-year projects containing several seasonal survey types and/or with complex site or regulatory processes.
- Managing and tracking project budgets.
- Preparing and managing proposals.
- Obtaining regulatory permits and ensuring compliance.
- Overseeing data entry and analysis, and supervising and mentoring junior staff.
- Communicating with clients and agencies.
- Completing ecological monitoring reports following applicable regulatory guidelines and industry standards.

**Your Education**:

- A degree in Biology or Environmental Sciences (or a similar educational background) is preferred.
- Exceptional professional experience relevant to the role, and
- Taxa-specific or discipline-specific expertise in ecology or biology.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 5 years of project management experience, preferably in environmental consulting.
- Technical expertise in at least one ecological field, or expertise across a broad range of taxa.

**Assets**:

- Ecological project management expertise pertaining to renewable energy developments.
- Experience preparing ecological proposals and budgets.
- Demonstrated understanding of, and experience with, species monitoring protocols and other guidelines pertaining to renewable energy developments.
- Experience completing surveys for wildlife in Ontario, Alberta and/or Saskatchewan.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing ecological monitoring reports.

**Salary**:$35.00-$39.00 per hour commensurate on experience.
