**Who we are**:
Metro Testing + Engineering (Metro) was established in 1987 in Metro Vancouver, BC to provide the materials testing of concrete, asphalt, and soils for the construction industry. Since then, we have grown to include a diverse scope of services that now includes specialty testing, materials engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, concrete restoration, and quality assurance certification throughout BC and Alberta.

**Who we are looking for**:
Metro Testing + Engineering Ltd. is currently looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join our small HR team.

**Main duties include, but are not limited to**:

- Recruitment:_
- Oversee recruitment and selection processes
- Work closely with the internal recruiter to ensure manpower needs are met
- Prepare offer letters and other applicable documentation
- Provide back up for recruitment and onboarding processes
- Employee Relations:_
- Be the first point of contact for our employees
- Investigate and felicitate resolution of employee concerns or complaints
- Coaching and advising_

Provide advice to management on a broad spectrum of HR related issues, including but not limited to:

- Notice/pay in lieu of notice obligations
- Progressive discipline
- Employment law compliance
- Immigration_
- Provide employees with employment or reference letters upon request
- Complete forms, and provide relevant company information to employees
- Work on LMIA process together with the company Immigration Consultant
- Administrative Duties:_
- Assist with benefits administration
- Update new hire packages as needed
- Update Employment Agreement as needed
- Maintain HR Files (both physical and electronic)
- Complete Statistics Canada Surveys
- Schedule pre-access drug and alcohol and fit-for-duty testing

**Required Skills and Knowledge**:

- Previous experience in HR Generalist role is required
- Good knowledge of legal framework for employment law
- Have the ability to work independently and as a member of the team
- Must be thorough, organized, and articulate
- Self-starter and problem solver
- Understand the sensitivity of confidential information and adheres to the policy of maintaining that confidentiality
