**Job description**

Established in 2008 Specialized Metal Fabricators has become one of the industry's leading manufacturers of architectural products. Focusing primarily on the architectural industry we excel at providing quality service and exceptionally quick turnaround times for all your projects big or small.

**Responsibilities**:

- Understand fabrication capabilities of the shop
- Read Engineering / Architectural drawings and perform take offs to calculate the amount of material required and estimate the labour required per job
- Understand the scope of the job and quote accordingly
- Request quotes from vendors, provide them with sufficient details, compare and select vendor
- Confirm that sufficient inventory is available before pricing the job
- Keep proper documentation of all quotes
- Analyze previous quotes and attempt to identify patterns
- Send out quotes to customers and clearly note parts included, scope of work, delivery and lead time

**Requirements**:

- Fluency in reading Architectural and Engineering drawings
- Ability to perform take offs
- AutoCAD
- Excellent working knowledge of Excel (MUST)
- Ability to Multitask

**Assets**:

- Previous experience in working with sheet metal
- Knowledge of metal fabrication processes
- Civil Engineering / Construction background

**Other Information**:
Office is located in Woodbridge, Ontario in the Hwy 400 & Highway 7 --make sure you are able to commute to this location
Working hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Must have the flexibility to work overtime

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $20.00-$27.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
- Overtime

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Woodbridge, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Microsoft Excel: 1 year (preferred)
- Reading Engineering Drawings: 1 year (preferred)
- construction / architectural estimating: 2 years (preferred)
