**Job description**:
The primary objective is to maintain the smooth operation of our shop equipment and building facilities at our dealership.

This role is best suited to a hard working person who enjoys a variety of hands on tasks including building and equipment maintenance and repair. Where the task is outside of your skill set or qualifications you would be expected to hire others, coordinate access, supervise the work and be certain we are receiving fair value for the dollar.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assess the current condition of electrical, air conditioning, plumbing, and other essential facilities and equipment, and ensure they are operating properly
- Develop and maintain records of the condition of equipment and systems in the building
- Create a schedule of regular evaluation of equipment and facilities
- Develop a system and preventative maintenance program for cleaning, repair and maintenance of shop equipment and facilities.
- Ensure the safety of the building from fire, flood, and other hazards
- Participate in monthly company Health & Safety Committee meetings. Report as necessary.
- Liaise with and utilize support from suppliers to bolster the overall operation, either through cost savings or improved efficiencies or services.
- Build a collaborative relationship with all department managers.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Flexible schedule at times for events. Normal hours Monday to Friday 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 7:00 Am to 4:00 PM.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment and preventative maintenance
- Valid B.C. driver’s license and good abstract.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job including the ability to stand for extended periods of time and repetitive lifting of 30-50lbs.

- Will require a background check.
- Monthly salary negotiable depending on skill set the applicant is providing however, would be in the range of a qualified trades person.
