Home Hardware is looking for an **Automation Technician **to join our Facilities and Equipment team. Reporting to the Supervisor, Conveyor and Electrical Systems, you will be responsible for the day-to-day troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of the automated material handling equipment.

- **Please note this position is scheduled Friday to Sunday, 7am to 7pm.**

**What you’ll do**:

- Perform day-to-day troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of the automated material handling equipment. These include conveyor and components within shuttles and lifts, goods to persons stations, decanting stations, eCommerce stations, rollers, belts, and pneumatic equipment.
- Ensure the proper documentation and procedures are followed according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Identify, recommend, and perform preventative maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime of equipment.
- Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and components, providing knowledge and expertise to possible challenges that may occur during projects.
- Perform troubleshooting on systems and engage local and remote support from manufacturers and software engineers to repair mechanical and software challenges.
- Support Root Cause Analysis after repairs to decide where changes need to be made.
- Operate scissor lift, forklifts, chain hoist, slings etc. (training will be provided).

**What we’re looking for**:

- College Diploma in Electrical/Electronics technician, Industrial Mechanics, Electromechanical training, and PLC training.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience troubleshooting automated material handling systems with PLC and HMI equipment, low voltage AC/DC devices and controls communications systems.
- Previous experience with Allen Bradley and Siemen PLC control platforms would be an asset.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues proficiently including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Background in mechanical and pneumatics is an asset.
- Ability to interpret blueprint and electrical schematics including controls to support troubleshooting.
- Prior experience with preventative maintenance and equipment testing to ensure optimum operational capacity and to ensure equipment is operating within manufacturers’ specifications.
- Able to work well both independently and as part of a team. Recognize and source other resources as needed to resolve issues in time sensitive manner.
- Able to work well under pressure and strong dedication to work through all issues to resolution.
- Strong understanding of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Manhattan System, and Maintenance Management Software would be an asset.
