**Job Description**:
***: Under the general supervision of the Supervisor Traffic Control and Street Lighting and the direction of the Crew Leader and the technical direction of the Technician I, assists in repairing, installing and maintaining all equipment necessary for the effective and efficient Traffic Control and Street Lighting system for the Corporation.

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Participates in installing all new Traffic Control and Street Lighting.
- Participates in maintaining and repairing all Traffic Control and Street Lighting equipment.
- Attends Safety, Traffic Control and Electrical seminars.
- Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education/Experience**:

- Minimum 1 year experience in installation, maintenance and repair of both Traffic Control & Street Lighting systems; or
- Equivalent combination of education, training and experience in the maintenance and installation of fixed time and solid state traffic controllers and street lighting responsibilities
- A certified Journeyman, Power Lineman or Electrician Licence is required

**Skills/Abilities**:

- Must possess and maintains a valid Class “D” Ontario Drivers Licence, or equivalent with a “Z” endorsement
- Must meet the definition of a competent driver as defined by the Corporation
- Must be reliable and be capable of dealing with the public in a courteous and tactful manner
- Must be able to understand, read, write and speak English fluently.
- Must be competent within the meaning of the Occupational Health & Safety Act as amended and be capable of issuing clearly understandable written and oral instructions.

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**:

- Must remain a competent driver as defined by the Corporation
- May be required to provide a successful driver’s record (uncertified)
