Always striving to live up to its motto, Superior by Nature, the Corporation of the City of Thunder Bay (City) currently seeks a... **Traffic Control & Street Lighting Technician II (Full-Time position)** - $34.64/hour** **The Opportunity** The Traffic Control & Street Lighting Technician II (TCSL) assists in repairing, installing and maintaining all equipment necessary for the effective and efficient Traffic Control and Street Lighting system for the Corporation. This is role reports the Supervisor Traffic Control & Street Lighting and under the technical direction of the Crew Leader. Some of the accountabilities include: **Key responsibilities**: - Participates in installing all new Traffic Control and Street Lighting. - Participates in maintaining and repairing all Traffic Control and Street Lighting equipment. This position requires: - Minimum 1 year experience in installation, maintenance and repair of both Traffic Control & Street Lighting systems; or - Equivalent combination of education, training and experience in the maintenance and installation of fixed time and solid state traffic controllers and street lighting responsibilities - A certified Journeyman Electrician Licence is required. - Must be able to understand, read, write and speak English fluently. - Must possess and maintain a valid Class "G" Ontario Driver's Licence, or equivalent. - Within 15 working days of receiving a conditional offer of employment, must successfully obtain a written beginner’s licence for an Ontario “D” Class Driver's Licence with a “Z” endorsement. - After training, must obtain and maintain an Ontario "D" class licence with a ‘Z’ endorsement. - Must remain a competent driver as defined by the Corporation. - May be required to provide a successful driver’s record (uncertified).
