We are looking for an experienced full-time Structural Steel Estimator to join our team Our busy steel fabricating shop requires a highly motivated individual who is familiar with structural and miscellaneous metal installations to provide accurate and detailed estimates for our customers. We fabricate and install structural and miscellaneous items such as columns, beams, stairs, canopies, railings, and brackets - virtually anything for the construction industry in the commercial and light industrial space. As Structural Steel Estimator, you will be a key representative of the company, primarily responsible for maintaining strong customer relationships as you respond to RFQs and negotiate project terms with customers.

Specific Duties Include: (but not limited to)
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, grades and other documentation for the purpose of preparing detailed time, cost and labour estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects.
- Conduct detailed analysis of the contract documents, drawings, specifications determine overall project requirements, develop clear and detailed scope to customer for steel projects.
- Maintain current pricing from suppliers for key materials used in estimates.
- Review project plans and specifications to confirm scope accuracy at time of project award, prepare change orders for site instructions and/or scope changes as applicable.
- Manage schedule of tender invitations to ensure competitive quotes are submitted on time.
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and sub-trades.

**Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education in structural steel detailing and/or construction estimating.
- 5 years’ experience in structural steel estimation.
- 5 years’ experience in fabrication of structural and miscellaneous steel.
- Excellent technical, analytical, organizational, problem-solving,
- Demonstrated negotiating and interpersonal skills
- Ability to efficiently organize workload/multiple tasks in a busy environment.
- Computer proficient in MS Word, Excel, Bluebeam, Auto-CAD, Presto and Outlook.

Annual Salary: $70,000 - $95,000 (based on experience)

Expected hours: 40 per week
