Monarch Delta Steel is looking for an experienced Estimator to join our growing team. This position will have you working on a wide verity of projects and play a unique role in contributing to our overall success. Monarch is well known in the industry and has been around since 1999. **Job Duties**
- Project manage structural steel projects from beginning to end including estimating, resource planning, scheduling, and closing out the job
- Prepare estimates on projects ranging from $1,000 to $1,000,000+ in the structural steel industry and other related steel products (stairs, handrails, pipe guards, bollards, canopies, etc)
- Prepare material take offs from Architectural and Structural drawing sets provided by customers
- Estimate and source required materials (raw materials, hardware, epoxies, etc)
- Prepare internal labour estimates including site measures, layout drawings, shop drawings, fabrication, and installation
- Estimate and source required sub-contractor services (engineering, crane services, rental equipment, sandblasting, powder coating, painting, etc)
- Point of contact for customers requiring quotes and project correspondence
- Build and maintain strong customer relations
- Provide technical oversight and support to the shop and installation crews
- Monitor and maintain project budgets based on estimated costs
- Ensure all assigned projects are managed appropriately by documenting customer approvals, capturing extras, and following internal procedures
- Review shop drawings before being released to production

**Experience**
- 5+ years' experience in steel fabrication estimating
- And/or 5+ years' experience in a structural steel project management role
- Experience with an ERP software system
- Experience with Microsoft Office

**Skills and Abilities**
- Ability to proficiently interpret Structural Architectural Drawings
- Strong understanding of North American fabrication and engineering standards
- Experience in manufacturing steel
- Effective communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable transportation and ability to visit sites
- Experienced in working and coordinating with multiple departments
- Experience with working directly with customers
- Fabrication experience is an asset
