**Company Description**:
WestMET Group (WestMET) has been established as an independent company by the 170-year-old Westmoreland Mining Company. Our mission is to evaluate and capture value from what we believe to be the world's largest and highest quality source of humic material (humalite) in Alberta, Canada. Additionally, we operate a state-of-the-art Environmental Remediation Service to restore mining sites to pre-mining conditions suitable for other purposes, such as farming. We aim to evaluate these remediated sites as potential locations for renewable energy projects.
**Position Summary**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing strategies for WestMET to establish us as a leader in the humic products market.
- Build and enhance the WestMET brand through various channels, including social media, advertising, and public relations.
- Identify and capture the real value of the humalite deposit at Sheerness, Alberta.
- Create and manage budgets to support sales and marketing initiatives effectively.
- Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations to expand market reach and solidify WestMET's position in the industry.
- Lead and manage a high-performing sales team, including hiring, training, and coaching.
- Implement innovative approaches, such as virtual sales forces, to drive sales effectiveness and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, industry influencers, and strategic partners.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between sales, marketing, and product development efforts.
- Architect and manage a customer relationship management (CRM) system to track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for both sales and marketing activities.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and make informed business decisions.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in sales and marketing.
**Qualification Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is highly desired.
- Proven experience in building and managing brands through social media and other marketing channels.
- Strong track record in sales team management, including the ability to recruit, train, and motivate high-performing teams.
- Experience in the agriculture industry is highly desired.
- Proficiency in utilizing innovative sales techniques, virtual sales forces, and CRM systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills to track and report on sales and marketing performance metrics.
- Ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions to drive business growth.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Must be a team player, open to suggestions, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to travel to visit prospects, clients, and host events.
- Entrepreneurial orientation, customer focus, and the ability to develop innovative approaches to problem-solving.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring consistent sales results and closing around objections.
- Proficient skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, etc.).
**Reporting Structure**:
This position will report to the Director of Operations, WestMET Group Canada.
