**DESCRIPTION**:
The position of **Lead - Human Resources** plays a pivotal role in supporting and implementing human resources initiatives and ensuring operational excellence within the HR department.

Reporting directly to the Manager - Human Resources, this position serves as a key resource for employees and managers, driving HR initiatives while managing day-to-day activities within the HR department.

**General Responsibilities**:

- Support and collaborate with the talent acquisition team
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless transition for new hires and departing employees
- Maintain accurate employee files and records, ensuring compliance with legal and company policies
- Process and document employee changes such as promotions, transfers, and salary adjustments
- Develop and distribute employee communications related to policies, updates, and HR initiatives
- Act as a resource for managers, providing guidance on HR policies, performance management, and employee relations
- Ensure HR systems and processes are updated and operate efficiently
- Serve as the primary contact for employee inquiries, resolving concerns related to policies, benefits, and other company programs
- Conduct routine audits of HR practices, records, and reports to identify areas for improvement and compliance risks
- Support performance management processes, including tracking performance reviews and addressing employee relations matters
- Assist the payroll and benefits team when needed

**Qualifications**:

- 5+ years of experience in HR Generalist or related roles, with leadership responsibilities
- Experience with unionized workplaces; negotiating collective agreements, resolving disputes, managing grievances
- Strong understanding of HR principles, labor laws, and best practices
- Diploma or certification in Human Resources, or a related field
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Preferred experience with BambooHR, ADP, Power BI
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with an advanced level in Excel
