Junior Estimator

We have an immediate opening for a Junior Estimator based out of our office in Georgetown, Ontario. We are on the hunt for a talented and energetic Junior Estimator with 3-5 years of experience coordinating and managing commercial interior construction projects valued up to $5M. We specialize in millwork, doors, trim, flooring, and drywall. A background in these areas is an asset. - Key Responsibilities:_
- Tendering a bid: Review scope of work, read architectural drawings, determine specifications.
- Measuring/Takeoff: Accurately measuring dimensions to determine quantity of product and installation need using estimating software and excel database.
- Project Management Assistance: Helping project management team with bid costing and cost reporting.
- Scheduling: Setting supply delivery and installation tasks
- Evaluating Building Materials: Quality control of supplied materials and knowledge of industry standards.
- Procuring Product: Price comparison of materials
- Preparing estimates and sub-contracts

**Skills**:
Procore, Blue Beam, Plan Swift, Flow Charts, knowledge of Canadian Building Code, product certifications (cUPC, UL, etc.)

**Qualifications**:

- Relevant experience in the industry and/or a certificate in construction estimating is required.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience with estimating interior finishes and drywall, small and/or medium scale within the commercial/residential construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, architectural drawings, materials, and regulations in Ontario.
- Ability to provide simultaneous support for needs across multiple projects in varying phases.
- PMP and Gold Seal certifications are considered assets.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client and supplier relationships.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and time management.
- Proficient in construction management software and tools, MS Office.
- Responsible for accurately calculating the final estimated project cost, ensuring to cover all costs which may occur while performing the job. Project costs include but not limited to: necessary materials, labour and equipment cost that is required to successfully carry out a construction project according to proposals, plans, estimates and specifications.

Pay: $55,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
