Your role
In the Acquisition department, you are responsible for coordinating the use of network gathering and distribution systems (audio/video links), both satellite and terrestrial, as well as routing feeds to various Corporation locations according to production requests (TV, radio, web).
To do this, you will need to verify the unfolding of upcoming events in collaboration with your colleagues and prioritize Acquisition activities in order to provide signals and feeds on time for broadcasting needs. You will also need to monitor the operation of equipment, operate it, and thus process the required operations in order to meet emission distribution and gathering needs.
In addition, you will have to control the status of signals that emanate from Acquisition or that come from outside. You will have to conduct tests and reports on the status of signals and equipment. You will also have to control the video/audio quality of all feeds upon their reception and assignment.
Finally, you will monitor the audio and video quality of regional feeds during ingest.
Please note this is a casual, on-call, part-time opportunity and you will be called to work on different shifts.
Your profile
Qualifications:
- College diploma in TV production and postproduction techniques, or other relevant field.- Three (3) years’ relevant, related experience.
Skills:
- Ability to show judgment, take initiative and be proactive.- Problem-solving skills.- Strong ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders.- Interpersonal skills (team focus).- Ability to work under pressure for extended periods.- Knowledge of satellite, terrestrial and IP transmissions.- Computer knowledge.- Bilingualism (English and French) an asset.- Willingness to work various rotating shifts in a news environment.- Interview.- Testing.
