**Job Summary**:
**Agronomy Responsibilities**

**Potato Quality Management**:

- Monitor and maintain high potato quality standards from planting to post-harvest storage.
- Conduct regular evaluations of crop health, growth stages, and tuber quality
- Analyze quality metrics and implement correction actions to address issues such as disease, pests, or nutrient deficiencies.

**Scouting Program Oversight**:

- Develop and lead a potato scouting program to monitor fields for pests, diseases, weeds, and other potential risks.
- Train and supervise field scouts to ensure accurate data collection
- Compile and analyze scouting reports to guide decision-making and implement timely interventions.

**Custom Nutrient Program Development**:

- Work closely with local agronomy suppliers to design and implement customized potato nutrient management programs.
- Conduct soil and tissue testing to determine nutrient needs and develop recommendations tailored to specific fields.

**Shipping and Logistics Responsibilities**

**Shipping Coordination**:

- Plan and manage potato shipments, ensuring on-time delivery to customers and distribution centers.
- Schedule and coordinate with trucking companies, ensuring proper handling and temperature control during transit

**Inventory Management**:

- Oversee inventory tracking for potatoes in storage, ensuring quality is maintained and product is shipped effectively.
- Work closely with production team to align harvest schedules with storage and shipping demands

**Stakeholder Communication**
- Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers, buyers, and transport companies to streamline the supply chain process.
- Communicate regularly with internal teams on shipments schedule and any potential issues.

**Qualifications**:
**Agronomy Expertise**:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Plant Science, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
- **Experience**: Experience in potato agronomy or related role an asset
- Strong knowledge of potato growth cycles, diseases, pest management, and nutrient requirements.

**Logistics Expertise**:

- Proven experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain coordination, preferably in agriculture or perishable goods.
- Understanding of transportation regulations and best practices for handling fresh produce.

**General Skills**:

- Familiarity with scouting tools, software, and agronomic data analysis.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to field locations.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Certification as a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) or willingness to obtain.
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and precision agriculture tools
- Hands-on experience with integrated pest management (IPM) practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
