**Controller**

We are searching the market for a Controller, someone who demonstrates initiative, sound judgement, and professionalism. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the overall financial operations of the company and providing accurate information to Corporate. This includes cost analysis and estimating, audits, budgeting, forecasting, inventory management, and preparation of financial reports.

**Practically speaking, you will**:

- Manage the accounting operations including the review of journal entries, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and statutory reporting
- Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance. with established legal regulatory and company policies and procedures
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Prepare, analyze, and present the monthly, quarterly and annual operating results for each product category
- Work with operations to define, measure, and analyze current processes which impact internal operating efficiency
- Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization
- Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services
- Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program
- Provide strategic analysis as required to drive improved decision making
- Work with external auditors and Corporate Controller
- Prepare and present financial information for quarterly and annual reports
- Manage foreign exchange transactions
- Manage the research and development program for CCRA and accounting requirements
- Work with sales team on product pricing, costing and margins
- Implement and manage internal controls with respect to financial policies, processes, and procedures
- Coordinate all customer and government audits
- Responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements and external reporting to financial institutions, ensuring that all reporting requirements are met
- Hiring, training, mentoring and supervising the accounting staff

The best in this role will bring more than just strong financial skills and experience, they will have proven success with inventory control, cost accounting, and change management. They will be a highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills and can clearly convey financial information in a way that makes sense.

**The Details**:
This is a full-time, permanent position working out of their Brantford office. You will work Monday to Friday. They offer an excellent salary, commensurate with experience, as well as dental care, health benefits, RRSP and paid vacation.

**Qualifications**
- University degree in Business/Accounting, with an advanced degree or professional accounting designation (such as CA, CPA, CGA, CMA, CMT) preferred
- 5+ years of experience and knowledge of all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management
- Cost Accounting work experience (essential)
- Thorough knowledge of all relevant Federal, Provincial, and local requirements regarding financial records, pension, profit sharing, and the like is essential
- Experience overseeing audits performed by external audit firms
- Financial analysis, budgeting, and some strategic planning experience
- Knowledge of budget preparation and analysis techniques
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Excel
- Management or supervisory experience
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
- Manufacturing industry experience is considered an asset
- Knowledge of ERP computer systems is an asset
