**Job description**

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for supporting and assisting the assigned division in the development, implementation and maintenance of an effective Quality System to meet applicable Quality Assurance/Food Safety Standards, contractual and regulatory requirements for delivery of the organization’s objectives.

**Available Shift**:

- Day Shift - 8 hour shift

**Positions Available**:
Marmac Facility - 15 Marmac Dr #200, Etobicoke, ON M9W 1E7

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for new ingredient/ packaging supplier packages to ensure ingredients and materials comply with GFSI, allergen strategy, compliance programs (RESPO, Prop 65, GMO, etc.) and other company requirements
- Responsible for managing customer/consumer complaints program, investigating root causes and working with the appropriate levels within Give & Go to reach a mutually agreed closure with the Customer/ Consumer
- Prepare Quality Assurance training programs / materials and conduct Quality Assurance training including the development of procedures, coordinating / implementing training across multiple departments or where required.
- Assist with and conduct other projects within the Quality Assurance department
- Follow company’s health and safety program, rules and procedures and work in compliance with health and safety-related legislation and codes.
- Report all incidents, injuries, illnesses, and near misses to your Supervisor.
- Use or wear safety equipment and personal protective equipment required by the company.
- Report to supervisor any hazardous or unsafe conditions, absence or defects in equipment and any contravention of health and safety legislation.

**Recipe for Success**:

- Completion of college diploma in Food Science, or a related field Completion of bachelor’s degree in food science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance
- Experience with HACCP, prerequisite programs and allergen management
- Experience with supplier management programs

**Skills Required**:

- Proficient with office 365, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams
- Ability to run analytics and use database systems to create reports
- Possess strong interpersonal skills, an approachable demeanor and an active listener
- Experience with developing presentations and communicating with internal business partners and customers
- Basic knowledge of CFIA/Health Canada/ OMAFRA/FDA/USDA/GFSI/HACCP Benchmarks Auditing an asset
- Ability to manage and communicate sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Excellent ability to focus and prioritize in a fast-moving environment
- Understanding and managing cost of quality
