**Quality Assurance Technician**

**Job Duties and Responsibilities: -**
- Responsible for product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Maintain calibration of quality equipment
- Identify areas for quality control improvement.
- Communicate quality or compliance concerns.
- Sanitation verification and allergen testing.
- Recording and filing of logs and documentation.
- Ensures Compliance of GMP, Food Safety and worker safety practices.
- Train employees on food safety and SQF standards.
- Collect product samples for Product Development, and lab retains.
- Inspections of Raw Material, Finish Goods, Packaging Material, and all stages of Production.

**Qualification: -**
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working in HACCP/GFSI role(s) in the food industry, preferably in meat and in a unionized environment.
- Post Secondary Diploma in a related field required.
- Working knowledge of food regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, SQF, food safety, food quality, etc.
- Working knowledge of knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS, and all other workplace H&S regulations.
- Ability to work / excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential.
- Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities.
- General computer skills (e.g., MS Office / Inventory Management systems).
