**Overview**
The Trailer Factory is a privately owned, manufacturer of high quality portable restrooms located in Huron Park, Ontario.
Our focus is to provide the best products and solutions to the sanitation industry. From design, fabrication to finishing, we complete all tasks internally.
We are looking for an individual who can work well in a fast paced, team environment and want to grow with us while we continue to expand our market share across Canada.
This person will be fully engaged in effectively managing the inventory strategy for the business, reporting directly to Executive Management.
We are looking to have this individual actively manage all aspects of our inventory strategy. Responsibilities include order processing (for small parts support to customers), analyzing inventory reports, issuing purchase orders, managing vendor relationships and coordinating with production management to ensure timely delivery of product for production.
This person will also lead by example, demonstrating a keen eye for quality and a high level of understanding of the various SKU’s we hold in inventory. They will also encourage members of our Shipping/Receiving department to keep accurate records and maintain inventory accuracy.
**Responsibilities**
The Purchasing & Inventory Manager reports to Executive Management.
- Analyze material planning reports.
- Issue purchase orders based on purchase analysis and current production trends.
- Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery.
- Analyze inventory availability reports to ensure production will not be delayed.
- Audit records of goods received as required.
- Build & maintain relationships with key vendors, ensuring company values are maintained.
- Manage inventory cycle-counts, including both issuance and processing of documentation.
- Negotiate with vendors to gain favourable pricing.
- Process faulty inventory reports and coordinate with vendors to determine next steps.
- Process customer parts orders, issuing paperwork to the floor for shipment.
- Coordinate with the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor to schedule vendor pick-ups.
- Assist with shipping/receiving duties as required.
- Update item records based on changes in production trends.
- Stays current with procurement trends.
**Qualifications**
This person will have at least two (2) years’ experience in an administrative role at a manufacturer, with experience in purchasing considered an asset. Inside sales experience is also considered an asset. Additional skills required include:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding organization and time management skills
- Familiarity operating within ERP systems (Microsoft Business Central Dynamics preferred)
- Extensive understanding of the products we manufacture & sell, and the industry we operate in
- Ability to anticipate material requirements and determine which items are most critical to production
- Knowledge of operating within budgets, and planning purchases accordingly
