The Trailer Factory is a privately owned, manufacturer of high quality portable restrooms located in Huron Park, Ontario.
Our focus is to provide the best products and solutions to the sanitation industry. From design, fabrication to finishing, we complete all tasks internally.
We are looking for an individual who can work well in a fast paced, team environment and want to grow with us while we continue to expand our market share across Canada.
This person will be fully engaged in effectively managing the Shipping/Receiving/Inventory Department, reporting directly to the Plant Manager.
We are looking to have this individual actively manage all aspects of shipping & receiving daily. Responsibilities include parts order fulfillment, unit shipments, logistics coordination, inventory management & material transfers between buildings. This position also requires a high level of coordination with production teams to ensure efficiency goals are met on a daily basis.
This person will also lead by example, demonstrating a keen eye for quality and a high level of understanding of the various SKU’s we hold in inventory. They will also develop a positive & enthusiastic spirit within their department.
**Responsibilities**
- Creating and managing “Stock Prep Lists” from sales orders with a high degree of detail.
- Receiving all incoming shipments both physically and into our ERP system.
- Complete physical inventory counts as required to maintain accuracy in our system.
- Operate forklift, tractor, or other equipment to complete material handling tasks.
- Plan & organize department staff based on operational requirements.
- Coordinate & schedule freight with our preferred carriers (ie. Trailer shipping) based on the customer’s desired delivery timelines.
- Complete faulty/damaged inventory reports and prepare items for return/disposal per Purchasing Department instructions.
- Organize and manage the yard including all raw materials, finished units and incoming traffic.
- Organize and manage in-plant storage, ensuring cleanliness and functionality for all employees.
- Coordinate & complete transfers between departments (ie. Plant 3 weld to Plant 1 weld)
- Fulfills customer parts orders in a timely and efficient manner, with a high degree of accuracy.
- Offer exceptional customer service during all customer relations.
- Coordinate with managers and team leads to ensure material requirements are met for production.
- Complete safety checks on all warehouse equipment as required.
- Coordinate with production & our mechanic to ensure safety inspections are completed to meet our delivery schedule (includes transferring units to/from the mechanic’s shop)
- Organize & manage delivery driver & pick up schedule.
- Ensure the department completes all tasks in a safe & efficient manner in accordance with TTF procedures & standards.
**Qualifications**
This person will have at least two (2) years’ experience in a factory setting, with experience in Shipping & Receiving considered an asset. Managerial experience is also considered an asset. Additional skills required include:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding organization and time management skills
- Familiarity operating within ERP systems (Microsoft Business Central Dynamics preferred)
- Extensive understanding of the products we manufacture & sell, and the industry we operate in
- Ability to anticipate material requirements and determine which items each department will need most
- Ability to operate material handling equipment safely and effectively
