**Purpose**:
The Centre Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support to the Co-Directors as well as coordinating programs and initiatives, and the administration of financial reports. The incumbent coordinates the Centre's activities, speakers' series, research events and programs/projects, and supports ORU members and the Centre's governance structure.

**Education**:
University degree in a related field, or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

**Experience**:
2 years of related work experience in academic and/or industry, supporting and developing research projects related to AI & Society. Experience should include financial and administrative support including event coordination and outreach, and liaising with funding agencies, industry, and academic institutions.

**Skills**:
Strong interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written including the ability to produce clear and concise documentation and reports.
Financial administration skills for assisting with preparing budgets, monitoring and reconciliation.
Project coordination skills to coordinate Centre's operation, multiple research projects and events.
Proven ability to work successfully with a wide range of stakeholders including researchers, students, staff, community groups, and private / public-sector organizations.
Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of a team.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
