**Job Overview and Responsibilities**:
Responsible for carrying out analysis and reporting of client samples in accordance with the requirements of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Health and Safety policies. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot complex analytical instrumentation.

**Primary responsibilities include the following (but are not limited to)**:

- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Health and Safety Policies when conducting all activities
- Review LIMS summary reports to plan and prioritize daily work to accommodate due dates and hold times
- Prepare reagents, calibration standards, and samples prior to analysis
- Operate complex analytical instrumentation such as ICPMS, ICP-OES, KoneLab, Automated Titrator, BOD, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and quality of work
- Interpret data, calculate final results and enter data into LIMS
- Carry out calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instruments
- Provide updates on status including advance notification of any delays
- Carry out quality control procedures and recognize when data is unacceptable using Control Charts
- Identify any non-routine samples and seek guidance on procedures for handling
- Meet quality and TAT specifications required by the client and ensure samples are analyzed within hold time requirements
- Identify and immediately communicate procedural non-conformances and deviations to Supervisor
- Employ proper laboratory techniques to minimize risk of mislabeling, sample mix-up and cross contamination between samples and other materials
- Retrieve and archive client samples for storage and disposal
- Participate in developing SOP’s and Work Instructions
- Participate, when requested, in Health and Safety meetings and internal/external audits
- Maintain training records and relevant qualifications
- Keep work area clean, neat, and organized
- Any other duties as assigned
- Adhere to Bureau Veritas Code of Ethics Policy

- Post-Secondary Science Technical Diploma or B.Sc. or equivalent
- Experience in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation
- Strong science background and experience in laboratory practices
- Competent in reviewing analytical procedures and practices
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Positive outlook with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good time-management, multi-tasking and priority setting skills
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

**Experience**:
