**Position Summary**

The incumbent provides employment support for people in the development and implementation of a plan to obtain employment.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Assess goals, determine job readiness and identify barriers to employability
- Develop, implement, and monitor plans to assist in determining goals and the means of attaining them
- Refer client to appropriate resources for specialized assessments if required; review assessments to determine the next steps in a client’s plan
- Coordinate and monitor unpaid work placements with employers
- Perform job development activities with a goal of obtaining competitive employment
- Maintain accurate case documentation and follow up with clients at regular intervals
- Adhere to the policy guidelines of the referral source and Meta Vocational Services
- Prepare reports; generate and produce statistical information
- Liaise and collaborate with community agencies, government officials, members of the public and other staff to provide information or guidance on employment related services and/or relevant social service programs
- Promote the agency through participation in community events, board membership and professional and/or business associations
- May be required to assist with job coaching duties
- Assist with the development, delivery and evaluation of additional avenues of fee for service work
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications and Educational Requirements**
- Completion of a post-secondary education in social services, developmental services, or related
- Minimum of 2 years related experience supporting, mentoring or counselling young people
- Advanced computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong attention to detail and follow up to ensure seamless continuum of employment services
- Strong analytical skills demonstrating a proactive approach to problem solving
- Able to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Understanding of federal, provincial and municipal programs and services, eligibility and guidelines
- Familiar with community social services networks and knowledge of Ontario welfare system and supports; sound understanding of employment-related legislation and issues
- Ability to multitask and work well in stressful, sometimes crisis, situations
- Must be able to travel frequently to various locations for work
- Valid Ontario drivers’ licence, up-to-date vehicle insurance and access to a vehicle

**Additional Notes**
- Travel outside the office will be necessary
- May require non-standard working hours (evenings & weekends)
- Must have the ability to work from home as needed
