To support Air Canada's continued growth and success, the Network Planning branch is expanding its Network Scheduling team that manages Air Canada's medium to short-term horizon flying schedules and network. The main objective of this critical leadership role is the continued development of the schedule along commercial and operational lines in accordance with corporate objectives for profitability, growth, competitive market position and customer experience.
**Description**
- Responsible for ensuring schedule feasibility at all airports, and adjusting the commercial schedule accordingly, such as:
- Gating
- Ground handling
- GSE
- 3rd party agencies (USCBP/CATSA/CBSA )
- Lead future schedule operational feasibility discussions with our Airports' teams and individual airport authorities, focusing on our hubs, while maintaining commercial viability of the selling schedule
- Maintain optimized manpower requirements with operational branches (crewing, airports, maintenance, etc.) by adapting the schedule to reduce requirements for additional headcount when commercially viable
- Manage Air Canada's International and North America slots portfolio in accordance with IATA, FAA and other international agencies regulations
- Develop relationships with other airlines and slot owners to facilitate slot movements and adjustments
- Track slot usage across our Network with particular focus on our YYZ hub
- Evaluate, implement, and communicate aircraft changes to key stakeholders inside and outside the company with regards to areas of interest
- Work with Air Canada's operating groups to understand cost levers and manage the schedule plan in a cost-effective manner while maximizing profitability
- Assist in optimizing profitability of entire network plan
- Ensure operational requirements are continuously met in the network schedule, including those that are a result of unplanned changes, while maintaining or exceeding the planned network profitability
- Act as the key focal point between AC stations managers, Corporate Real Estate, the scheduling team and as needed, directly with airport infrastructure managers
- Responsible to maintain internal and external alignment about infrastructure use to maximize Air Canada's position in constrained airports
**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary degree required; Business, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics, preferred
- 5+ years of work experience preferably airline experience, including operational and/or commercial knowledge or demonstrated interest in aviation and airline business
- Previous airports and/or slot management experience an asset
- Core scheduling experience an asset
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and short deadlines
- Ability to efficiently communicate with external customers
- Strong negotiation skills
- Self-starter and able to work well under pressure in a team environment
- Communication skills including the ability to resolve conflicts and obtain buy in
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, such as Excel and PowerPoint
