Kitimat, Canada Matrix Labour Leasing Ltd. Full time

Matrix is hiring a remote, full-time, permanent Financial Controller for our incredible client. The annual salary is $130k/per year. Our client has been in business for over 100 years and is a leading provider of industrial Civil Construction, Demolition, Mechanical, Fabrication, Site Services, and Project Management.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Oversee all company accounts and investments
- Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
- Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
- Support the local Operations Director and Sales Director to ensure they make informed decisions based on high quality, relevant and up-to-date information
- Supervise and manage the local financial department staff
- Take the lead on local finance projects such as systems transition and migration, restructuring, streamlining and outsourcing projects
- Motivate and lead the local finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback
- Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing
- Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
- Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation
- Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
- Manage all loans, other borrowings and local banking relationships
- Develop budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports
- Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities
- Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
- Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations
- Report to the finance team with timely and accurate financial information
- Assist the finance team in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.

**Qualifications**:

- Fully qualified accountant with a bachelor's degree from a prestigious university
- Several years of experience in a business or finance environment
