As an integral part of the communications team, the Specialist will lead and implement a digital and social engagement strategy to raise awareness and public action in our fundraising, partnerships and programmatic initiatives. Working closely with key stakeholders across the Canadian team and internationally, your ability to collaborate and take initiative to create compelling stories and content will be key to your success.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Digital and Social Engagement Specialist will be a key team member in helping drive the communications objectives that support the strategy and impact of SOS Children’s Villages Canada (SOS Canada).

**Core Responsibilities**
- Create, manage and execute SOS Canada annual strategic social and digital media content plan to support brand awareness, fundraising and program objectives.
- Lead the digital and social content development in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Plan and manage the SOS Canada website content updates, reviewing and creating all web content for branding, accuracy, SEO best practice and objectives alignment.
- Create the content and visual asset development for monthly, campaign and event e
- newsletters.
- In collaboration with key stakeholders, develop and execute strategic social media campaigns (organic and paid), aligning with key international dates and fundraising events and initiatives.
- Support SOS Canada as a go-to for digital media, digital design and SEO best practices.
- Develop, collect and analyze data and KPIs on digital and social media channel performance monthly and for individual campaigns.
- Project manage vendors for digital marketing projects, as needed.
- Liaise with SOS Children’s Villages International Programs and Communications.
- Assist in the development of print publications such as newsletters, annual reports and other materials as needed.
- Support media outreach and materials development as needed.
- Support the graphic design and printing of SOS Canada promotional and event materials as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Communications.

**Desired Skills and Qualifications**:

- 3-5 years progressive communications work experience; non-governmental organization experience a plus.
- A degree/diploma in digital media, marketing, communications, and/or equivalent related experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluency in French is an asset.
- Exceptional writer and storyteller with a passion for creating engaging content.
- Demonstrated knowledge of social media platforms, analytics and evolving best practices, and proven experience delivering desired results.
- Familiarity with running online advertising campaigns with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google and their analytics tools.
- A passion for, and knowledge of, child-focused international development and humanitarian assistance programming.
- Experience using content management systems such as Drupal, SharePoint, Canva, WordPress, and Facebook Business Suite.
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite and knowledge of graphic design, video and other visual communications.
- Ability to work collaboratively on a team, yet a self-starter comfortable running a project or task independently.
- Meticulous attention to detail with excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
