Disability Case Manager

We are looking for a Disability Case Management Professional to join our team. This is a professional non-union position primarily responsible for the general administration of the Disability Management Program. This includes working with all internal and external stakeholders to manage ill/injured workers and return them to work in a safe, timely and sustainable manner which also includes a promotion on the use of modified work. This position is responsible for the education and surveillance of employee health to facilitate proactive and preventative health strategies. This position reports to the Manager, Corporate Health, and Wellness.
**Duties**:
- Works with all stakeholders to coordinate and monitor return-to-work opportunities including temporary modified work and/or alternate placements
- Analyses and interprets medical information and documentation submitted for worker health conditions
- Assists employees with health-related issues, including the coordination of external assessments to establish recovery and rehabilitation goals and objectives
- Promotes the health and wellbeing of employees through an understanding of applicable legislation, regulations, standards, and healthcare practices
- Builds and maintains cooperative relationships with all stakeholders to mutually strengthen the overall level of service provided by the Human Resources department
- Maintains and safeguards the privacy of health-related documentation for all claim/case management files and health surveillance activities
- Performs pre-employment Health Declaration assessments and facilitates testing
- Establishes and maintains open communication between all relevant stakeholders in the claim/case management process and in health and wellness initiatives
- Assists in developing, researching, and implementing organizational wellness initiatives (including technological efficiencies and improvements for health and wellness)
**Requirements**:
- Successful completion of an applicable degree in health, human resources, or related field from a recognized post-secondary institution
- Registered (or eligible to become registered) with the appropriate relevant regulatory body in Alberta
- Preference for Disability Case Management and/or Return-to-Work Coordinator certification or training
- Demonstrated knowledge of claim/case management, return-to-work coordination, applicable legislation, third party providers, and health and wellness programs/initiatives
- Knowledge of legislation and regulations governing worker and worksite health and safety.
- Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Proven experience in ensuring professional, accurate and timely communications with team members and other stakeholders
- Exhibits effective interpersonal skills demonstrating a high standard of ethics, integrity, and discretion related to privacy and health matters
- Ability to facilitate and present ideas, engage others, and influence action towards various health and wellness outcomes
- Demonstrated accountability in establishing and achieving personal/team goals and objectives
- Ability to accept direction, work independently and function as a collaborative team member
- Strong knowledge and ability to utilize standard business software as a tool for communication, analysis, and documentation

**Salary**: $78,000.00-$98,000.00 per year
