The Opportunity:
We are looking for an exceptional individual to take charge of the challenging role of Legal Assistant in Medicine Hat, Alberta.

Responsibilities include:

- Assist lawyers in preparing legal documents, correspondence, and other materials.
- Maintain and manage legal files, documents, and databases.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel in a professional and courteous manner.
- Manage lawyers' calendars, schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings.
- Conduct legal research and document retrieval as needed.
- Prepare and file court documents and other submissions accurately and on time.
- Handle administrative tasks to keep the office running smoothly

Qualifications:

- Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in legal assisting preferred but not mandatory
- Professional demeanor including an ability to manage all incoming client inquires, work well with colleagues, lawyers, external clients and outside service providers
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Reliable and able to work independently taking initiative when required
- Knowledge of and ability of Microsoft Suite and Cosmolex is an asset
