Job Summary:
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting dairy products processed in our
facility before being shipped to our customers to ensure the established quality and food safety
standards are met. The Quality Control Inspector also assists management to maintain the
HACCP and pre-requisite programs by auditing, monitoring, scheduling, verifying and
validating results. The Quality Control Inspector follows up with employees, maintenance and
supervisors on the production floor, providing regular updates on progress to the management
team to resolve quality concerns.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for checking products condition daily to ensure products staged for shipping is
within quality standards
- Inspect, test and/or measure products according to product specifications/customer expectations
- Verify a sample of all products based on established standards to ensure they are free from
contaminants, and/or quality defects
- Flag poor quality products, and initiate corrective action plan
- Create and maintain a detailed and accurate report of inspection results, including taking
pictures and communicating inspection results to all appropriate personnel
- Ensure accurate timely processing and organization of workflow for shipping functions
- Liaise with warehouse and production staff to ensure proper rotation of inventory, and assist in
the reduction of product waste
- Assist in customer complaints, returns and credits to customers
- Liaise with Buyers, Production & shipping staff, and QA to identify and correct reoccurring
issues
- Ensure GMP, food safety and workplace safety practices are strictly followed at all times
- Ensure compliance with HACCP scheme, BRC and CFIA regulations
- Read and thoroughly understand and be familiar with all product specifications, and client
expectations
- Other duties relevant to the position will be assigned as required
Qualifications and requirements:
- Post-secondary education in Dairy/Food Science /Biology (or related Science)
- 1 years of work experience in a quality control/assurance role in Dairy or Food related industry
(preferred)
- Food Microbiology analysis experience would be an asset
- Dairy or beverage processing experience would be an asset
- Must have working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook (MS office suite).
- Understanding of food safety, HACCP system and packaging processes would be an asset
- Strong logical thought process and meticulous attention to detail
- Be well organized & able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Must successfully pass a variety of evaluations
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Able to work in cold temperature environment from 2-4°C for an extended period of time as
needed
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as required
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs if needed
**Salary**: $17.00-$18.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8-10 hour shift

**Salary**: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
