**About the Opportunity**:
The Provincial Palliative Care Volunteer Program Lead is responsible for engaging with existing palliative care volunteer services, supporting the delivery and further development of education/training, support, supervision and policy relating to HPC volunteers, and for ensuring high quality care in accordance with the NS Palliative Care Competency Framework and Hospice, Palliative and End of Life Accreditation Canada Standards. The Lead will leverage existing resources, identify gaps, help optimize the volunteer role within palliative care and provide expertise in the continued development of tools, resources and mechanisms for connecting palliative care volunteer services across the province, in accordance with the Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement.

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Baccalaureate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
- Designation as a Certified Volunteer Administrator (CVA)
- Minimum three years recent experience in health care and/or volunteer services sector
- Palliative Care education (ie: LEAP training) would be an asset
- Experience with program development and implementation
- Committed to the philosophy and principles of hospice palliative care
- Skilled and experienced in the development and delivery of adult education
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills and experience with online meeting platforms
- Knowledge of best practices related to volunteer resources
- Knowledge of quality improvement and evidence based practice
- Knowledge of Hospice, Palliative and End of Life Accreditation Canada Standards and NS Hospice standards related to palliative care volunteers
- Knowledge of the principles of Community Development, Patient Engagement, and Volunteerism
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

- Long assignment, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly

**Compensation and Incentives**:
$29.44 - $36.80/Hourly
