**POSITION PROFILE**
Reporting to the Manager, Outreach and Recruitment, the Recruitment Officer is responsible for acting as a representative and ambassador for St. Jerome’s University. They communicate with and provide information to secondary school students, their families, and school officials regarding admission policies, academic programs, and other aspects of university life to help guide their decisions about post-secondary education. This involves significant travel to secondary schools across Ontario.

**How will you contribute as a Recruitment Officer?**
- Responsible for significant travel to secondary schools across Ontario to present key information and awareness of the strengths of St. Jerome’s University to prospective students
- Help prospective students visualize a St. Jerome’s University experience; build effective relationships with prospective students and their families; and provide complete and accurate information about programs, co-op, the admissions process, and any other details required by prospective students
- Visit in person or connect virtually with secondary schools throughout Ontario on an individual basis to meet with students who are interested in finding out more about St. Jerome’s University; conducting a 30-minute presentation to a group of students at each school, holding small-group counselling sessions, and meeting with school personnel to provide current St. Jerome’s University information
- Participate in and contribute to the success of Recruitment Events, including the annual Ontario Universities Fair and Fall Open House
- Responsible for ensuring effective follow-up communication with prospective students
- As required, visit high schools and attend recruitment events across Canada outside Ontario
- Provide admission guidance to prospective applicants and influencers
- Coordinate and respond to inquiries from prospective students, parents, and guidance counsellors
**As a successful Recruitment Officer, you possess**:
- An undergraduate degree; SJU and/or UWaterloo alumni preferred
- Student leadership experience during university studies; extensive knowledge of and involvement in St. Jerome’s and/or UWaterloo, including an overall understanding of the organization of St. Jerome’s University and UWaterloo services, departments, and affiliated institutions an asset
- Background in teaching, undergraduate recruitment, marketing, sales, public speaking, and/or public relations an asset
- Demonstrated outstanding written and oral communication skills, with proven excellence in public/promotional speaking and delivery of presentations.
- Understanding of student demographics including awareness of and sensitivity to cultural, language, religious, political, socio-economic, and other relevant factors in recruitment markets
- Demonstrates maturity, confidence, and competence sufficient to provide effective, credible representation of St. Jerome’s University at high school and educational events
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
- Ability to contribute to and execute social media strategies
- A valid G driver’s license and a clean driving abstract
- The ability to obtain a Vulnerable Sector background check
