**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Director - Finance Fort Site, the Manager - Finance Operations will provide oversight of operational, project and capital accounting, business support as well as financial and accounting analytics to management across all business units represented at the Fort Saskatchewan site to meet financial targets and strategic objectives.
This position is a term position for approximately 14 months and will be based at our Fort Saskatchewan site.
This position follows Sherritt’s Flexible Work Arrangements Policy is a hybrid role, working both remotely and in the office.
**Accountabilities**
- Develop and implement a 3-12-month business plan of continuous improvement for the position.
- Support fertilizer and capex accounting activities and processes at the Fort Site to ensure the preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial information.
- Provide the Fort Site operations with business support and accounting advice as requested as a strategic business partner to Fort Site’s management team.
- Ensure the preparation and compliance of timely and accurate financial information and analysis of performance to the strictest standards of accounting, tax legislation and the JV agreement.
- Assist with coordination of internal control testing process in accordance with 52-109 requirements at the Fort Site.
- Support the annual external audit and quarterly reviews for all business units represented at Fort Site.
- Request information from various departments to support accounting reports and analysis.
- Require and oversee appropriate system of internal controls to be in place at the Fort Saskatchewan site.
**Qualifications and Skills**
- University degree in business or a related field; CPA designated
- 5+ years of relevant work experience (manufacturing industry is preferred)
- Understanding of current accounting best practices and standards
- Experience in leading and overseeing a team
- Conceive and implement a 3 to 12-month business plan
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Financial modeling skills
- Proven ability to adapt to new technologies and tools that create efficiency and accelerated change
- Communication, writing and presentation skills
