**Location**: Hybrid (remote with travel to Turtle Pond Wildlife Centre) Val Caron, Ontario
**Position Type**: Part-Time, 5-Month Position
**Hours**: 22 hours per week (flexible hours, some evenings may be required)
**Salary**: $18.00 per hour

**About Us**:
Turtle Pond Wildlife Centre is dedicated to the rehabilitation and care of injured and orphaned wildlife. Our mission is to provide expert medical care and rehabilitation services, while educating the public about the importance of wildlife conservation. We are looking for an energetic, self-driven individual to join our team as a Part-Time Event Planner & Grant Writer for a 5-month period. This individual will play a crucial role in planning and executing our fundraising events and securing grants to support our mission.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Event Planning & Execution**
- Coordinate and execute components of our yearly online auction, working closely with our experienced auction team.
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and community partners to solicit donations and support for the auction and other fundraising activities.
- Track and organize donations, ensuring they are properly catalogued and acknowledged.
- Assist with the set-up and management of the online auction platform, ensuring a smooth user experience for both donors and bidders.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure deadlines and project goals are met for the auction.
- **Grant Research & Writing**
- Research potential granting opportunities from foundations, government programs, and corporate sponsors that align with our rehabilitation activities and mission.
- Write clear, compelling, and well-researched grant proposals, ensuring they align with the funder’s priorities.
- Work closely with the BOD to track and report on grant outcomes and ensure proper use of funds.
- **Outreach & Fundraising Materials**
- Assist in the development of marketing materials such as wildlife calendars, brochures, and other outreach resources to raise awareness and funds.
- Help create and distribute fundraising campaigns, both online and offline, to increase donor engagement.
- Collaborate with the BOD to ensure that all outreach materials reflect the mission, values, and activities of the Centre.

**Key Qualifications**:

- Experience in event planning, preferably in a non-profit or fundraising context.
- Proven success in grant writing, with a track record of securing funding for non-profit organizations.
- Strong research skills and the ability to identify funding opportunities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for wildlife conservation and rehabilitation.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Access to a reliable vehicle is required.
- Must have a compatible computer.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Familiarity with fundraising software or online auction platforms is a plus. (i.e., Canada Helps, 32 Auctions)
- Previous experience in a wildlife rehabilitation or environmental organization is an asset.
- Graphic design skills (or familiarity with design tools) for creating marketing materials is a bonus.

**Working Hours**:

- This is a 5-month, part-time position, requiring 22 hours per week.
- Work hours are flexible, with some evenings possibly required depending on event timelines and deadlines.

**Compensation**:

- $18.00 per hour
- Position begins in February 2025.
