Groundsperson/arborist Apprentice

Horizon Contracting Group is looking to add a safety minded Apprentice/Assistant Groundsperson/Tree Care Labourer to our Tree Care team You will be working in the lower mainland, starting each day from our yard in Langley. This would be a great role for someone looking to get into Arboriculture

**Job Summary**

The arborist division labourer does not necessarily need a lot of experience in the arboristry industry, just a great attitude and a willingness to learn This position will report to and learn from our skilled arborists and arborist foremen, learning all aspects of Grounds person duties including raking, chipping, and general site clean-up. This role will be responsible for general maintenance of tools and equipment and learning and demonstrating a solid understanding of all required emergency and safety procedures and protocols.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Drivers license is a must
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with the crew and management
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Comfortable working in a team environment
- A great attitude
- Experience working outdoors in all weather

**Physical Requirements**:
Physical requirements for this position include great eyesight, the ability to verbally communicate as well as the physical ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours a day while lifting up to 35 lbs. This position requires the person to help the foreman in all aspects of the job.
