Solution Process Serving Ltd. (SPS) is an established legal services company which has been operating in the City of Toronto since 2009. We offer a variety of different services including court filings, process serving, and document reproduction to clients including large national law firms, government agencies, and major media companies. We are a small-yet-versatile team looking for hard-working individuals with strong customer service and administrative skills to expand our roster.

**Job Summary**

Court Services Representatives (CSR) are in many ways a combination of traditional process server roles with those a legal or administrative assistant. The industry has evolved rapidly in the last few years with many changes being accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. CSRs are front-line staff responsible with ensuring work orders are performed promptly and thoroughly. Working both independently and as part of a larger team, CSRs are expected to display strong communication skills and maintain high standards customer service at all times.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Travel to various courthouses within the City of Toronto and Greater Toronto Area for the purposes of filing court documents and reproducing court records;
- Attend the offices and homes of various business, agencies, and individuals within the City of Toronto and Greater Toronto Area for the purpose of serving court documents;
- Attend client’s offices to pick-up and/or deliver time-sensitive and/or original documents;
- Perform administrative duties such as printing and assembling court documents for service, drafting affidavits of service, and preparing outgoing mail;
- Help to update and maintain internal records relating to contact information, service requests, and document reproduction;
- Perform electronic filings and searches which relate to ongoing legal proceedings;
- Exhibit the ability to adjust to constantly shifting priorities and tasks in a fast-paced environment;
- Support team by performing tasks related to organization and strong communication.

**Working Conditions & Equipment**

CSRs typically work in the field at various courthouses throughout the City of Toronto and Greater Toronto Area. Depending on workload they will often be required to begin their shift at the primary courthouse downtown located at 330 University Avenue. They may also be expected to walk to different courthouses, offices, or agencies located within the downtown core for the purposes of filing documents, serving documents, and reproducing court records. Minimal to moderate exertions such as sitting, standing, and walking in all sorts of weather conditions should be expected. The bulk of administrative tasks, however, will be performed at our primary office located at 388 Yonge Street, just fifteen minutes’ walk from the courthouse.

CSRs must have strong time management skills and the ability to adjust to changes in priorities on short notice. Our client’s often have extremely tight deadlines which we are expected to meet. High attention to detail is required when performing such tasks, as mistakes can often be time-consuming and expensive to rectify

All equipment and data are supplied by and owned by the company with the exception of the employee's vehicle & insurance. All equipment and data not already supplied by the company will be compensated upon receipt of proper bills and/or receipts (ie. phone bills, 407 bills, etc.). With regards to the CSRs personal vehicle, staff will be compensated for recorded mileage as per the industry standard, and the company will only require that the lightweight portable devices be always kept on the employee’s person.

**ASSETS & QUALIFICATIONS**
- Working knowledge of Ontario’s _Rules of Civil Procedure_, _Family Law Rules_, _Rules of the_ _Small Claims Court,_ etc.;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English;
- A high level of experience with and proficiency using MS Office and Excel;
- Valid Ontario driver's license and clean driving abstract

**Salary**: $17.00-$18.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

COVID-19 considerations:
Proof of vaccination (minimum 2 doses) required. Masking is strongly encouraged but not mandatory unless you serving a health facility or long term care home.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
