Summer Sports Camp Manager

TOP Sports Camps is looking to hire an experienced and passionate **Camp Manager for our De La Salle Camp Toronto location for summer 2025.** All applicants should be very organized and outgoing, and bring plenty of energy, passion, and engagement to every day. Experience teaching a variety of sports, including soccer, basketball, flag football, lacrosse, and camp games is an asset.

**Camp Manager Applicant Requirements**
- 1-3 years of camp management experience is a must.
- 3+ years of camp counselor / coaching experience is required.
- Experience coaching/ teaching students of all ages in a variety of sports settings.
- Experience playing and coaching team sports AND/OR experience working with young children in a supervisory role as a teacher or early childhood educator.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to delegate effectively with a staff up to 3-5 counselors.
- Ability to encourage and motivate staff, and to acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of others.
- Strong communication skills developed through previous supervisory roles along with the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Experience developing programs and activities for children..
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills: ability to establish rapport and maintain excellent communication with campers, parents, and coaches.
- Works well with mínimal supervision, and asks for assistance when needed.
- Manages conflict situations appropriately and professionally.
- Excellent social and verbal communication skills.
- Required certifications include CPR & First-Aid, and Vulnerable Sector background check.

**Camp Manager Responsibilities include**:

- Camp Manager reports to the Camp Director.
- Plan, guide, and oversee the summer camp program, which includes up to 150 campers and 20-30 staff on a weekly basis.
- Oversee Camp Leads and Camp Counselors, ensuring all staff are on-task and adhering to the TOP Sports Staff Code of Conduct.
- Oversee and implement all schedules for staff and campers related to daily programming.
- Operate all aspects of the summer camp program (including policies and procedures) in a safe, timely, efficient, and relevant manner in accordance with current standards.
- Address crisis management, discipline, and troubleshooting issues related to campers and/or staff.
- Responsible for overseeing the program, including assisting day-to-day programming if needed.
- Communicate professionally with campers, parents, staff members, and other community members on a daily basis.
- Responsible for adjusting daily camp activities and weekly schedules.
- Responsible for recording any incident or medical reports, including allergies, injuries, and conflicts.
- Responsible for creation and execution of summer camp safety plan, including evacuation plan, inclement weather plan, and active threat plan.
- Coordination of all drop-off and pickup of campers throughout camp weeks, including any early pickups.
- Responsible for providing feedback to all summer camp staff daily, including weekly status meetings with the entire staff, and through mid/end of season evaluation forms.
- Liaise with the Camp Director on changes that need to be made to summer camp programming on a weekly basis, including staff changes, programming changes, and policy updates.

- Pay Range: $860.00 - $920.00 (weekly)
- Final compensation for this role will be determined by relevant experience and qualifications of the applicant.

**Camp Manager Pre-Camp Hours**:

- 20-25 hours in April - June working on promotions, preparation, interviews, hiring, training, and summer camp planning.
- Mandatory Camp Orientation Training:

- Date: TBD (First week of July)
- Location: 131 Farnham Ave, Toronto, ON M4V 1H7
- Time: 9:00am - 4:00pm

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal

Pay: $860.00-$920.00 per week

Expected hours: 45 per week
