Social Worker

**ONE KIDS PLACE - Children’s Treatment Centre** provides rehabilitation and related support services for children and youth (up to the age of 19) and their families living in the Districts of Muskoka, Nipissing and Parry Sound. All staff will provide service within an interdisciplinary team environment committed to family-centered practice.

**POSITION**: 1.0 FTE Social Worker (Permanent Full Time)

***:The Social Worker is responsible for providing clients and families with counselling, support and consultation to maintain continuity of care and to maximize health and well-being.

**JOB DUTIES**:

- Reports directly to the designated Manager for overall direction and supervision.
- Provides assessment and intervention for children/youth and families who require Social Work services. Social Work treatment may include:

- psychosocial assessment
- adjustment counselling
- brief individual or family counselling
- crisis intervention
- supportive counselling
- resource counselling
- bereavement counselling
- client and family education.
- Documents client-related activities and workload practices according to Children’s Treatment Centre and College standards.
- Utilizes therapeutic techniques / modalities as necessary in the provision of therapy and maintains client confidentiality and privacy.
- Communicates effectively and ensures continuity of care by making treatment decisions in close collaboration with the children/youth/family, other rehabilitation staff and other community service providers as part of a an inter-disciplinary team.
- Educates the child/youth, family and other caregivers regarding the role and function of the Social Worker in the client’s continuum of care.
- Provides clinical supervision within the discipline’s scope of practice to designated support personnel and/or placement students
- Provides treatment recommendations and/or refers children/youth to appropriate services.
- Acts as a resource/educator for the children/youth, families, staff, students, professional and communities through facilitation, development and implementation of education programs.
- Participates in the orientation and training of new staff members, placement students and/or volunteers.
- Pursues on-going professional development and growth.
- Other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelors Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
- Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers/Social Services Workers.
- Experience working with children and youth who have physical/cognitive/developmental disabilities and/or multiple service needs and their families.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to form and maintain helping relationships with children/youth and family members
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, organize daily activities efficiently and effectively and demonstrate proficiency within a computerized work environment.
- Ability to provide clinical supervision to support personnel within the discipline’s scope of practice.
- Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
- Proof of COVID Vaccinations as required by the sector

**COMPENSATION**:$35.82 - $42.52 hourly (depending on prior experience as per our Collective Agreement).
