Our R&D team is growing and we have a permanent, full-time opening for the position of **Research Technician**. He/she will work with the cell chemistry, materials, or product development teams and will play a role in our development efforts to continuously improve lithium-ion battery research. Working alongside research scientists in the lab environment, our technologists conduct a variety of experiments, collect data, make observations, and collate results into presentations for group meetings. **DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Evaluating a variety of materials; tracking results and analyses; and entering into a database.
- Fabricating and testing of batteries, starting with powder blending, slurry mixing and electrode coating.
- Use of various lab instruments including; SEM, TGA, DSC, FTIR, UV-Vis, CT Scan and more
- Assisting in developing new R&D methods and practices.
- Summaries and written/oral presentations of results to R&D teams.
- Practicing excellent laboratory practices, including safety and lab cleanliness.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- BSc. or BEng., or a 2-year science diploma, with relevant lab and work experience. New grads welcome.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent observational skills; paying close attention to details; and reporting anomalies.
- Ability to identify, evaluate and solve problems and reach out for assistance as required.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple ongoing experiments.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision, both in a team and independently.
- Flexibility with the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment and corporate goals
- Experience in a chemical laboratory is an asset.
