**Position Overview**:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Funding/ Grants Coordinator is responsible for securing funding to support WBYO’s programs and initiatives that make a positive impact on our community.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Conducting research to identify potential funding and grant opportunities that align with WBYO's mission and goals.

Cultivating relationships with funders, grant-making organizations, and other relevant stakeholders to enhance WBYO's grant-seeking efforts. This may include attending networking events, meetings, and conferences.

Keeping up correspondence with staff members, volunteers, parents, participants, the general public, and any other interested parties regarding information/queries about funding the program.

Other duties as assigned and/or negotiated.

**Qualifications**:
Excellent writing skills with the ability to craft compelling grant proposals, reports, and other written communications.

Strong verbal communication skills for effectively liaising with internal stakeholders, funders, and other external partners.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple funding/ grant projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with funders, grant-making organizations, and other stakeholders.

Attention to detail in tracking grant requirements, deadlines, and compliance obligations.

Proficiency in researching to identify potential funding/ grant opportunities, understand funder priorities, and gather relevant data to support grant proposals.

Capacity and drive for innovation, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Strong sense of accountability, commitment towards outcomes, and ability to work in a

results-oriented culture.

Hard-working, energetic, reliable, flexible, organized, and able to work assertively and independently.

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Current Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check.

**Assets**:

- Previous experience in grant writing, grant management, fundraising, or related areas within the non-profit sector is highly desirable.
- Currently enrolled in university/college or have a degree/diploma in a related field (education, childcare, recreation, psychology, social work, sociology, etc.)
- Class five driver's license
- Knowledge of inner-city issues

Job-Type: Part-time (20-25 hrs/week)
