RTR Terra Contracting Ltd is a full-service excavation contractor that provides a multitude of services of various sizes in and around Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Terra was formed over 10 years ago by a group of exceptional and knowledgeable construction and operation managers that have over 25 years of experience.

**The Opportunity**:
Terra’s Safety Coordinator is safety-orientated, organized, experienced, has construction knowledge, and has excellent communication skills. Terra’s ideal Safety Coordinator is flexible and readily on-the
- move, moving from Terra’s Burnaby Office to different sites and places across the lower mainland.
Terra’s Safety Coordinator is competent, helpful, reliable and a team player. If selected to join us, you would be reporting to Terra’s Human Resources & Safety Manager.

**A day in the life of an Operations & Safety Coordinator
- roles and responsibilities**:

- Assists with implementing and monitoring Safety Plans, including participation in job site safety reviews, toolbox meetings, and safety training
- Assists in the preparation of purchase orders for the warehouse and sites
- Orders, schedules and tracks material & inventory deliveries to shop
- Control and oversee the SALUS app to the field and office staff. Develop forms and documents to track and help field report. Create the PO system for each project with the assistance of the project PMs and VP of Field Operations
- Stock and maintain all inventory in the Shop. Organize and accept deliveries for the shop. Be point of contact for shop for all safety related deliveries
- Set up, maintain, and monitor all GPS tracking for all vehicles and equipment. Print out GPS audits as needed or requested by field managers
- Maintain COR safety program at Terra
- Maintain and execute any new hire safety orientations for the office staff. Working directly with

Human Resources and Safety Manager to develop and assemble the new hire package for distribution
- Monitor safety form submission statistics and report back to Human Resource & Safety Manager on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Help follow up with field to ensure compliances are met.
- Acts as a liaison and coordinator between operations and field crews; Chairs meetings related to

Safety aspects for assigned projects; monitors work progress and updates safety logs for the company
- Prepares and maintains a variety of materials such as records, technical and status reports, correspondence. reviews all submitted safety documents from the field and approves or investigates discrepancies
- Conducts field inspections; ensures that all work is performed in accordance with Terra and

OH&S regulations
- Establishes and maintains liaison with a variety of internal and external contacts; provides information direction and assistance to other department staff. Updates policies and related matters; coordinates and attends coordination mtgs in all departments
- Provide safety documents needed for each new project. (Insurance, WCB Letter, NOP, etc)
- Develop safety plan for each site in coordination with Safety Manager and VP of Field Operations
- Attend and take minutes at site safety meetings as needed or as requested.
- Assist in field safety investigations as needed or as requested.
- Participate in post project review with key project personnel.

**Qualifications

- You have a safety background and minimum 1 year of safety experience
- You have above-average knowledge of the construction industry and/or come with a construction background
- You have excellent organizational skills
- You are committed to being reliable and dedicated
- You are a team player
- CSO or Level 3 first Aid certificate required
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, project teams and subtrades
- Strong knowledge of construction specifications, methods and procedures
- Solid computer skills
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Legally entitled to work for any employer in Canada
