The Health & Safety Coordinator, reporting to the Regional Health & Safety Manager, is responsible for developing and implementing company-wide safety programs across 18 Ontario locations. This role focuses on compliance, risk reduction, and operational efficiency through inspections, audits, incident management, and return-to-work plans. Strong organization, communication, and attention to detail are essential. Significant travel is required to ensure alignment with company safety standards across Ontario and Canada.

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop, implement, and enforce health and safety policies, procedures, and site-specific safety plans.- Assist in the planning and start-up of new projects, ensuring all health and safety measures are in place and conduct site safety audits.- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and company standards.- Manage WCB claims, injury reporting, and return-to-work programs, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.- Coordinate and deliver safety training programs, including WHMIS, respirator fit testing, and hazard awareness.- Facilitate incident/accident investigations, develop corrective actions, and track follow-ups to prevent future occurrences.- Maintain and update safety documentation, such as hazard assessments, toolbox talks, and training records.- Act as the primary OH&S contact, providing on-site coaching, completing regular site visits, and ensuring compliance with company policies.- Monitor and analyze safety data to identify trends and recommend initiatives for reducing incidents and improving prevention.- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all safety requirements are met and maintain COR certification, including performing internal and external audits.- Participate in Health & Safety Committee meetings, ensuring regular meetings and inspections, and follow up on action items.- Assist with health and safety orientations for new hires, including PPE setup, WHMIS, Asbestos Awareness training, and respirator fit testing.- Manage relationships with key clients and stakeholders on safety-related matters.- Perform administrative duties, attend training and conferences to remain compliant with legislation, and provide excellent customer service.
- Ensure attention to detail, practice good housekeeping, and comply with all BELFOR policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety (preferred).- 2+ years of practical health and safety experience, ideally in Construction/Restoration.- Knowledge of COR certification and OHS legislation.- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.- Solid organizational and planning skills with ability to delegate or escalate to management when required.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with travel and on-call availability.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces.
- Fit for respirator testing and compliance with safety standards.
