**Job Overview**:
The Maintenance Inventory Controller is responsible for managing and maintaining the inventory of parts, tools, and supplies needed for the upkeep and repair of equipment in the plastic recycling facility. This role ensures that the inventory levels are adequate, organized, and up-to-date to support the smooth operation of maintenance activities. The individual will work closely with the maintenance team and other departments to ensure that all necessary materials are available when needed.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- ** Inventory Management**:
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance-related inventory, counting parts, tools, and supplies.
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials as needed to prevent shortages.
- Conduct regular physical inventory checks and reconcile them with system records weekly or as requested by supervisors.
- Implement and manage a computerized inventory tracking system.
- Generate regular inventory reports for management, highlighting key metrics such as stock levels, order timelines, and cost analysis.
- ** Maintenance Assistant**:
- Assist maintenance technicians in repairing and maintaining injection molding machines, extrusion equipment, and other manufacturing machinery
- Help with preventive maintenance on machines, motors, conveyors, and tools
- Keep maintenance work areas clean and organized
- Monitor and report equipment issues or malfunctions
- Follow safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times
- Perform other general labor and support tasks as needed
- ** Warehouse Management**:
- Organize and manage the storage of inventory, ensuring that materials are stored in a safe and accessible manner.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to minimize loss, damage, or theft.
- Create and maintain shelve labeling and designating bin numbers.
- ** Collaboration and Communication**:
- Work closely with the maintenance team to understand their inventory needs and respond promptly to requests.
- Communicate effectively with the Plant and Maintenance Supervisor regarding inventory status, upcoming orders, and potential issues.
- ** Data Management and Reporting**:
- Assist in creating data forecasting inventory needs based on historical data and upcoming projects.
**Qualifications**:
- ** Education**:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ** Experience**:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a related field.
- Experience in a manufacturing or recycling facility is preferred.
- CMMS program and Microsoft knowledge is an asset.
- ** Skills**:
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance processes and the materials used in equipment repair.
- ** Physical Requirements**:
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as needed.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
**Working Conditions**:
- This role is primarily based in a warehouse/plant facility with occasional office work.
- May require occasional overtime or weekend work to meet the demands of the maintenance schedule.
