The Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce (“The Chamber”) works together to build good business and great community for all. For over 160 years, The Chamber has led the way in historic improvements in our region, fostering connections, promoting business excellence, and advocating for economic growth. Today, with nearly 1,400 members, the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce is the 3 largest chamber in British Columbia. We represent the interests of small, medium, and large businesses across all industries.

We are seeking a dynamic, driven Membership Representative to join our team and play a pivotal role in growing and retaining our membership base.

**Job Overview**

As The Chamber’s sole sales representative, this role is responsible for driving membership growth and managing advertising sales. Working closely with the Membership Team, the Membership Representative will have a key role in member engagement, member retention, and cancellations.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Achieving and maintaining membership targets by identifying prospects, conducting outreach, and driving membership sales.
- Selling advertising opportunities to Chamber members across various platforms, including website and BizNews ads.
- Hosting introductory meetings with new members and prospects to promote the value and benefits of memberships.
- Processing membership cancellation requests and demonstrating value of membership to retain when possible.
- Serving as key point of contact for membership-related inquires and providing ongoing support to enhance value of membership.
- Attending Chamber and community events to network with prospects, serve as a Chamber ambassador, and enhance member and community relationships.
- Utilizing customer relationship management software (CRM) to remediate data, track KPIs, and administer membership changes.
- Utilizing customer relationship management software (CRM) to build rapport on members, creating personalized, meaningful messaging to new members to increase retention.
- Processing member renewal payments and strategizing retention methods for overdue members.
- Working with our team to identify opportunities to move towards our vision of being the most diverse and influential business association in the region, encouraging newcomers and indigenous involvement.

**Qualifications**
- Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Communications, Public Relations, or equivalent.
- Proven experience in sales or business development, preferably in a membership-based or nonprofit environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of businesses.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles, with the ability to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all Chamber members.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Flexible, efficient, and willingness to learn new skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Planner) is an asset.
- Experience with Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud is an asset.
- Experience with CRM systems is an asset.

- **Compensation**: The Membership Representative will receive a base salary of $45,000 annually. They will receive a 10% commission on membership and advertising sales, paid out monthly.
- **Performance Bonuses**: Bi-monthly performance bonuses based on the membership team's progress toward annual key performance indicators (KPIs), up to $6000 annually.
- **Flexible Schedule**: Chamber Staff have the choice between ‘Friday Flex’ Hours or Standard Hours
- Friday Flex: 8:00-4:30 Monday to Thursday, 8:00-2:00 Friday
- Standard Hours: 8:30-4:30 Monday to Friday
- **Extended-Health Benefits**: Chamber Group Health Benefits, available after 6-month probation period.
- **RRSP Contributions**: Matching RRSP Contributions, available after 2 years of employment.
- **Vacation Pay**: 3 Weeks of paid vacation annually.
- **Hybrid Work Option**: Option to work from home twice a week, available after 6-month probation period.
- **Networking Events**: Access to networking events and extensive contact list in the region.
