**About the Job**

Frederick + Sherwin is a small and dynamic public accounting practice based out of Sherwood Park, Alberta. Our firm has been providing accounting, tax, business advisory and bookkeeping services to owner-managed business in the greater Edmonton area since 2009.
- Secondary schooling, technical training and/or relevant work experience
- Must be proficient in Quickbooks and Excel
- Relevant work experience in public accounting office (minimum 1 year)
- Proficient in digital file management (e.g., scanning, manipulating PDF files)
- Detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and people skills
- An accounting designation is considered an asset but not required

**Accounting Technician Responsibilities**

Given the size of our office, the position will involve many functions over many roles.

Primary responsibilities will consist of accounting and bookkeeping functions including:

- Various professional accounting work including compiling trial balance support, drafting financial statements and corporate income tax returns
- Direct written and oral communications to clients
- Full-cycle bookkeeping work including payroll, GST and reconciliations
- Responding to client requests

Secondary responsibilities will consist of various administrative duties (ie. answering phones and other general support as needed).

**Additional information**
- Our office is completely paperless (except client records) and technology consulting is part of our practice (operate using Mac computers, so experience with these is valuable)
- Compensation is competitive and commensurate with education and experience
- Benefits are available as part of compensation

**Salary**: $1.00 per year
