On August 1, 2017, Providence Healthcare, St. Joseph's Health Centre and St. Michael's Hospital integrated to form a new health network known as Unity Health Toronto. United, the three organizations serve patients, residents and clients across the full spectrum of care while investing in world-class research and education. Unity Health Toronto works to advance the health of everyone in their urban communities and beyond. The health network provides services spanning primary care, community care, tertiary and quaternary care services to post-acute through rehabilitation, palliative care and long-term care.
St. Joseph’s Health Centre’s Family Birthing Centre provides care to approximately 3,300 women and their families during their birthing experience, making it an increasingly popular choice for parents in our community. The centre features rooms and other care areas that are bright and spacious, and the interprofessional team of physicians, nursing staff, midwives and other birthing and healthcare professionals is always ready to support growing families.
**Qualifications**:
- Regulated Health Professional with a Master’s Degree in Nursing/Health Discipline required
- Strong clinical background of 3 - 5 years in Family Birthing (Intrapartum and Postpartum), including demonstrated knowledge of current best practices.
- Experience with level 1 & 2 maternity patients in a Single Room Maternity Care (LDRP) model
- Two to four years recent leadership experience in a healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated strong financial and human resource management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to foster partnerships to advance patient and family centred care.
- Demonstrated evidence of innovative leadership and critical thinking, with proven ability to foster a collaborative team and patient/family approach to decision making.
- Demonstrates effectiveness in all categories of the OHA’s Leadership Competency at the management level.
- Superior communication, team building, conflict resolution and problem solving skills within an interdisciplinary milieu.
- Proven success in the development and implementation of strategic objectives including quality indicators, volume targets, and budget management.
- Proven success in managing change and fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development.
- Demonstrated commitment to driving Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
