**Job Title: Team Lead, Joint Venture and Operational Accounting**

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Team Lead, Joint Venture and Operational Accounting to oversee the day-to-day accounting activities related to joint ventures and operational accounting. Must have a strong work ethic, who is a self-starter and highly motivated and strong oral and written communication skills to join us in our downtown Calgary office, reporting to the Manager, Joint Venture and Operational Accounting.

**Qualifications**
- 5+ years Oil & Gas accounting experience, including joint venture and operational accounting
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role
- Ability to work independently and adhere to tight deadlines
- Good team player, ability to work with people of diverse disciplines, backgrounds and cultures
- Ability to be flexible and to adapt to changing circumstances, managing multiple tasks
- Experience implementing automation tools and streamlining processes
- Ability to lead change and drive continuous improvement
- Understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills

**Additional Skills considered an asset**:

- Knowledge of QbyteFM, Optix reporting, Energylink, Petrinex, GeoScout and CS Explorer
- Experience in both Joint Venture Accounting and Operations Accounting
- Experience with Aucerna (AFE Navigator) & Open Invoice

**Primary Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Supervise and mentor a team of accountants focused on joint venture and operational accounting activities
- Provide ongoing guidance, training, and performance feedback to support team growth
- Ensure accurate and timely accounting in accordance with joint venture agreements and applicable standards
- Collaborate with joint venture partners on financial matters, including audits, reconciliations, and reporting
- Oversee the month-end close process within Qbyte FM, ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial data
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses to support financial integrity
- Maintain and update Qbyte master data to ensure consistency and reliability across accounting systems
- Lead or support system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements related to Qbyte FM, driving process improvements and automation
