**What you will do**:
In this role, you will have a wide range of accounting responsibilities, you will guide the Kitchener Accounting team in their day-to-day activities, and provide support to the Corporate Controller.

You will also:

- Oversee the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, review of the balance sheet and income statement accounts, and preparing reports.
- Analyze and report on product costs working closely with the Operations teams on BOMs, variances and standard costs.
- Manage the performance of day-to-day accounting activities including invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, banking and updating the general ledger.
- Manage the local Kitchener Accounting Team currently consisting of the Receivable/Invoicing Specialist and Accounts Payable Specialist.
- Coach, lead, manage and develop the Kitchener Accounting team. Conduct performance reviews and manage personnel while maintaining personal privacy and confidentiality.
- Calculate payroll remittance, EHT, WSIB and HST, and royalty fees, monthly. Provide back up to the HR Manager for payroll processing.
- Manage the company credit cards program and maintain petty cash accounts.
- Prepare daily cash reporting and weekly cashflow forecast. Prepare weekly and monthly KPI reporting.
- Oversee the upload of eCommerce sales transactions, related expenses and reconcile all to the general ledger.
- Participate in the interim and year end audit including physical inventory and costing updates and assist with the annual budget process.
- Provide support to the Corporate Controller and CFO as business needs require.
- Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures, including the review and implementation of process and system changes. Working with the Eugene and Montana locations to develop best practices.
- Responsible for supporting and adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Participate in special projects as needed (e.g., costing for new products, assistance with ERP implementation).
- Cross train with other members of the department to provide support for absences and vacations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications Required Are**:

- Degree or diploma in Business Administration or Accounting; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, with strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, and financial controls
- Strong computer skills: proficient in MS Office (Excel and Word), working knowledge of ERP systems experience with accounting and payroll software (Microsoft Dynamics 365, Sage, Dayforce and Powerpay an asset)
